Focus & Attention...
are necessary in school. Low focus and attention typically result in low classroom performance and poor reports from teachers.

Visual Tracking...
with attention is necessary to follow detail of a classroom lesson. 

Time on-task...
is necessary to be able to finish assignments. Low time on-task results in many assignments being started but few completed. A 20 minute homework assignment can take hours to finish if time on-task is low.

Short-term (working) memory...
has to be sufficient to take multiple instructions or retain simple facts long enough to transfer to long-term memory. Persons with low ability in working memory will frequently be unable to fulfill simple multiple tasks.

Discriminatory processing...
allows a person to filter out extraneous stimuli and work with appropriate stimuli. If discriminatory processing is low, then the most minute occurrence can cause a distraction.
